With the intent of further strengthening bilateral cooperation in regulation, innovation and training in food safety, Emilia-Romagna signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Guangdong during this visit.
“Food security, quality and traceability are important factors for people’s happiness and children’s future,” said Bonaccini. “The Province of Emilia-Romagna has developed an integrated system of product assurance for food security, and we intend to share this experience and technology with Guangdong through this visit.”

According to Mr. Bonaccini, both regions are going to expand their collaboration into fields which link with Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025.
“Guangzhou is one of the starting points of Maritime Silk Road, and Guangdong Province is one of the important components of the Belt and Road Initiative. We hope that our region can engage in this Initiative more,” he added.
