Guangzhou BaiyunInternational Airport signed a cooperation agreement with the International AirTransport Association (IATA) on Jan 10, becoming the first airport in China toestablish a strategic partnership with the organization.
The two parties will work together in two areas—luggageservices and passenger experience.
After becoming an IATA strategic partner, GuangzhouBaiyun International Airport will be able to learn about the latesttechnological applications and development trends from the global aviationcommunity by participating in annual IATA summits, working group meetings andother activities.

According toConrad Clifford, regional vice president of IATA in the Asia Pacific, GuangzhouBaiyun International Airport is the first of its kind in China and North Asiato forge a strategic partnership with IATA. The airport will be able toparticipate directly in international market promotion and the discussion andformulation of international aviation rules.
